"Ministering Healing To The Hurting"

Bishop Howard A. Daniel, Sr. has been teaching and preaching the Gospel since 1993 and is the
Founder and Senior Pastor of the Upper Room Christian Center in Meriden, CT, established January
2011. He is the Founder and Visionary of Churches of Global Outreach and Deliverance (C.G.O.D.)
headquartered in Meriden, CT, with affiliated churches and Ministries in Connecticut, St. Michael,
Barbados and Sialkot, Punjab Pakistan, established in August 2019.

Bishop Daniel was born in Sidney, Ohio where he obtained a Bachelors’ and Masters’ Degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. On January 25, 1992 he gave his life to the Lord and served at the
House of Prayer (Mt. Zion Holy Union C.O.G.) under Pastor Claude Johnson, Sr. On August 22,
1992 he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Tina Pence. In June of 1995, the Daniel
family relocated to Vernon, CT and continued his journey and growth in the Lord at Greater Refuge
Church of Christ under the guidance of Apostle Alonzo Boswell, Sr. He was an active member of
the Men’s and General Choir and faithfully served as a Youth Pastor and adult Sunday School
Teacher. On January 1, 1997, the Lord directed him to the Anointed Tabernacle of Jesus Christ
under the leadership of Pastor Lamar Belcher. At the Anointed Tabernacle, he faithfully served in
many capacities of leadership for fourteen years.

Bishop Daniel is also a graduate of the Cleveland Tennessee Bible Study Certification Program. In
August of 2000, he graduated from the Black Ministerial Certification (BMC) program of the
Hartford Seminary of Hartford, CT with summa cum laude honors.

In October of 2010 Pastor Daniel was instructed by God “It’s time to start the church.” On January
2, 2011 with an official membership of seven committed men and women of God, the Upper Room
Christian Center was established. The church was founded upon “going back to basics” in Acts 2:41-
42. The vision God gave the ministry was very simple: Win One Million Souls.

Bishop Howard and Pastor Tina Daniel both have a sincere passion for all people and especially
those who are hurting. They take great pride in the church’s motto of, Ministering Healing to the
Hurting. The ministry found favor with God and began to experience rapid growth. In, November
2016, the Daniels closed on the purchase of the church’s current location at 262 Bee Street in
Meriden, CT. The ministry continues to prosper at a steady pace. Pastor Daniel contributes it all to
God and the many developing activities the church has to offer. This includes but is not limited The
Daniel Christian Academy, Christian Kindness in Action, Hoving Home Ministry in Garrison, NY,
Grief Share and so many more.

Bishop Howard and Pastor Tina are residents of Middletown, CT and the proud parents of five children, Vanessa, Desiree, Howard II, Alandra and TiShara (oh, and Daeja); and three grandchildren, Alaska, Kayden and Skylar. Both Bishop Daniel and Pastor Tina work full-time jobs at Aetna and Aero Gas, respectively, while growing the ministry. Their humility and love for the people of God is their key to achieving the vision of winning one million souls. Pastor Daniel’s favorite scripture is found in
Psalms 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” It is
with boundless humility that he and Evangelist Tina take great honor in shepherding the flock at The
Upper Room Christian Center.
