An overview of the Upper Room Christian Center. All newcomers or those interested in learning more about our pastor, vision, and ministry are invited to attend. The 90-minute session is free and scheduled as needed.

EL-02 Missionary Orientation

An overview of the Upper Room Christian Center's missionary role. The 90-minute session is for anyone interested in learning more about the role and responsibilities of a church missionary. It is open to all and is required for those seeking the office of missionary after completing classes 100-A and 100-B. The 90-minute session is free and scheduled according to need.

 

EL-03 Deacon Orientation

An overview of the Deacon/Deaconess role at Upper Room Christian Center. All those interested in learning more about the role and responsibilities of the church Deacon/Deaconess are welcome to attend this free 90-minute session. Individuals seeking to pursue the office of Deacon or Deaconess after completing Classes 100-A and 100-B must attend.

EL-04 Clergy Orientation

An overview of the Upper Room Christian Center Clergy Role and the progression to Ordination. There is no cost for this 90-minute session for those interested in learning about the role and responsibilities of a preacher or teacher in a church. In order to pursue the role of a Preacher or Teacher after completing Classes 100-A and 100-B, this class is required.

EL-05 Exploring God's Word (OFFERED)

DAY/TIME: Thursday's @ 7 PM

LOCATION: ONLINE 

A simple exploration of God's Word. The student will learn about creation, the five dispensation periods, the divisions of the bible's books, and other things about the Word of God during the 10 weeks. Those who wish to receive a hard copy of the presentation will have to pay $15.

 

100(A) URCC New Member's Class (OFFERED)

DAY/TIME: Wednesday's @ 6:30 PM

LOCATION: URCC MERIDEN, CT

Overview of URCC beliefs, structure, and character of a newly born-again Christian. An Upper Room member's expectations.

100(B) Ministerial Ethics (OFFERED)

DAY/TIME: Wednesday's @ 6:30 PM

LOCATION: URCC MERIDEN, CT

Prerequisites: 100 A.

An overview of various church offices and roles (e.g. Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Bishops, etc.) Discover your role in the church.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

LOCATION: URCC MERIDEN, CT

Prerequisites: 100A, 100B.

An overview of various church offices and roles (e.g. Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Bishops, etc.) Discover your role in the church.

101 Minister Training

Prerequisites: 100A, 100B.

You must interview with and obtain approval from the Pastor before registering. Overview of the role, responsibility, and expectations of a URCC Minister, the four parts of a sermon, how to prepare a sermon, and complete a trial sermon.

102 Kingdom Teaching I

Prerequisites: 100A, 100B, 101, 201.

You must interview with and obtain approval from the Pastor before registering.

An overview of the role, responsibility, and expectations of a URCC Teacher.  Discover how to teach God's Word, prepare a bible study lesson, and complete an in-class bible study lesson.

201 Advance Minister’s Training (OFFERED)

Wednesday's @ 6:30 PM

LOCATION: URCC MERIDEN, CT

Prerequisites: 100A, 100B, 101. 

Advance training in the development of the Minister. We are introducing the Minister to conducting home church services, corporate and personal Holy Communion, child dedication, and water.  Additionally, the perfection of the minister’s ability to structure and teach a Bible Study lesson.

202 Kingdom Teaching II  

Prerequisites: 100A, 100B, 101, 201, Kingdom Teaching I.

You must interview with and obtain approval from the Pastor before registering.

Advance training in the development of the Godly Teacher.  Advance Development of the Teacher in understanding how to study to teach Hermeneutics Teaching Tool-Box and much more to structure and teach Bible Study lesson.

301 Clergy Ordination Training 

Prerequisites: 100A, 100B, 101, 201.

You must interview with and obtain approval from the Pastor before registering.

Advance guidance and instruction in one’s role as an Ordained Minister, Teacher, or Prophet/Prophetess.  Advance training on Home Church Services, Corporate, and Personal Holy Communion, Child Dedication, and Water Baptisms.  Also, an introduction to facilitating/conducting Weddings and Funerals.

401 Deacon/Deaconess Training 

Prerequisites: Deacon/Deaconess orientation, 100A, 100B.

Advanced instruction in one’s role and responsibilities as an Ordained Deacon.  This will include guidance in taking care of God’s house, supporting key services such as home church services, corporate, and personal Holy Communion, water baptisms, weddings, and funerals.  

 

500 Missionary Training        

Prerequisites: Missionary orientation, 100A, 100B.

Advance instruction through a workshop that educates the missionary in applying local and global responsibilities practically.  The workshop will be but are not be limited to, working the altar, supporting Holy Communion (Public & Private), child dedication, funerals, water baptism, and other critical workshops for specific required skills. 

 

501 Advanced Missionary Training

Prerequisites: Missionary orientation, 100A, 100B, and 501.

Advance classroom instruction in one’s role and responsibilities as a licensed Missionary.  This will include guidance as to taking care of the people of God and overseeing the well-being of the URCC members and the community abroad.  How to support key services such as home church services, corporate and personal Holy Communion, child dedication, water baptisms, weddings, and funerals.

 

601 Church Mother’s Training

The in-depth teaching of the role and responsibilities of the Church Mother at the Upper Room Christian Center.
